Obituary of Salvatore C. Scardino

On May 17, 2009, lifelong resident of Winslow, NJ age 85yrs. Beloved husband of Trudy (nee Capp). Devoted father of Michael S. Scardino and his wife Julie of Waterford and Nicholas L. Scardino and his wife Jennifer of Winslow. Loving grandfather of Michael, Jessica and Randi. Predeceased by brothers and sisters Frank, Roland and Anna of Winslow, and Madeline of Media, PA. Survived by brother Anthony Scardino of Mays Landing, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Scardino was a 30yr member of the Winslow Vol. Fire Co. #1 and was a 19yr member of the Winslow Twp. Board of Education. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Inskip Antlers Gun Club as well as the Berlin VFW Post #10182 where he served as Senior Vice Commander. Mr. Scardino proudly served his country in World War II under Gen. George Patton's 3rd Army in France and Germany. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 9:30am to 11:00am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ (856)767-0539. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Rev. Anthony Parise presiding. Interment, Winslow Methodist Cemetery, Winslow, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Scardino may be sent to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, Attn: Activities, 524 North West Blvd., Vineland, NJ 08360.
