Obituary of Leslie H. Smith, Sr.

Leslie H. Smith, Sr. of Lindenwold, NJ passed away on August 10, 2011 at the Vitas Hospice unit at JFK Hosp in Stratford. He is survived by his wife Mabel D. (nee Bowers), his children, Carol Smith of Lindenwold, Darlene Starrett of Washington Twp., NJ Leslie H. Smith, Jr. and his wife Ellen of Bear, DE and David Smith and his grandchildren, Cheryl Starrett-Keller, Robert Starrett, Keri Smith, Justine Smith, Joshua Smith and Rebecca Smith. In 1946, the following words were spoken by Leslie, "I, Leslie H. Smith, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. " and support and defend he did!, proudly for 20 years in the US Air Force. After leaving his career in the Air Force, Leslie became an electrian last working for Marshall's Electric. He enjoyed making model air planes in his past time. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service followed by Military Honors on Saturday, August 13, 2011, 11:00am at the Atco Cemetery, Bartram Ave., Atco.
