Obituary of Ronald H. Moore, Sr.

Ronald H. Moore Sr. was born February 21, 1942 to the late Geraldine and Thomas Moore in Philadelphia PA. Ronald was the oldest of six children. He excelled at academics and track in the Philadelphia Public School system and spoke fondly of running in the Penn Relays. After high school, he immediately joined the Marines. While stationed in SC, he met Vernell Washington. After a very short courtship, they wed April of 1964. Shortly after marriage they moved to the Philadelphia area and raised four children. Ronald worked for the Philadelphia Gas Works for 25 years until retirement in 1996. In 1976 Ronald was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He proudly served as a ministerial servant and a full-time pioneer for many years. He instilled his love for Jehovah in the raising of his family and viewed it as his most sacred gift he could ever give his children. He is survived by a loving wife of fifty-four years Vernell Moore, his children; Ronald Jr (Annetta), Tanya (Ernie), Rhonda, and Tracey. Siblings; Thomas Jr., Adrienne, Janelle, and Bruce. Grandchildren; Christian, Allanna, Aliyah, Alexia, Bryson, and Blair. Great-grandfather of Zayden. He will also be sadly missed by a host of in- laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents (Thomas and Geraldine Moore), brother Gerald Moore and son-in-law Maurice Rucker. Viewing will be held on Saturday July 21, 2018 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, NJ.
