Obituary of William T Phipps
I wanna live, I wanna give. It's these expressions that keep me searching for a heart of gold. .And the song, from beginning to end, I found in the heart of my friend Tommy. Your heart has brought great joy to many and those hearts can never forget you. William T. "Tommy" Phipps, age 57 of Clementon, passed away at Manor Care in Cherry Hill on Sunday August 21, 2011.
Tommy was born in "the City of Brotherly Love" and spent his early years there but had lived in Clementon for the past 10 years. He faithfully gave to his country and proudly served his beloved Marine Corps as a Private during Vietnam. Tommy was an effusive Philadelphia fan who cheered on the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers. He worked at the Wawa Warehouse in Wawa, PA. He loved music; playing his guitar and singing Neil Young tunes just as much as hitting the open road on his motorcycles over the years. Tommy always tried lady luck at the Atlantic City Casinos and settled in with a nice cold beer.
Tommy is the son of Harry C. Phipps and Madeline (nee Day) Phipps of Clementon and brother of Diane & her husband Ray Stanton of Pine Hill.
Relatives and friends are invited to Tommy's viewing on Saturday morning between 9 am and 11 am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home 441 White Horse Pike, Atco where a funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 11 am. Pastor Ellen Rutherford, officiating. Interment and military tribute will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall PA.
