So shocked & saddened to hear about Gary. I got to know him at the Lindenwold shelter where I volunteered on Sundays. Hard working, honest...and what a smile! Heaven is just a little brighter now!

God will welcome this man for the many wonderful things he has done in life. The closest living things to the Lord are the animals and the helpless. Gary was their guardian angel. Celebrate his life.

I did not know Gary. He sounds like a wonderful, caring person. His accident happened at the house next to mine. I am so sorry there was nothing we could do to help. He was not conscious. My son and I did stay with him until the police arrived. Several neighbors did. I just wanted you to know that. I am terribly sorry for your loss.

Gary was a wonderful and compassionate man. Each time I saw him at CCAS, he would greet me with his energetic personality and we would discuss our mutual love of animals and our desire to save them. I hope his legacy will never be forgotten. He will be sorely missed.

I knew Gary as a child. We played football against each other. His passion for sports spilled out into every part of his life sounds like. Very sudden to hear about your loss. To the family, I pray that God will comfort you. Mourn for him yes but know that he is in a better place.

I barely knew Gary. Our first encounter was when I took my 12 yr old daughter to a dog walking seminar at CCAS this summer. We were both impressed by his obvious passion and knowledge of animals. We saw him several more times and interacted with him briefly when visiting the shelter to walk dogs. I have told people about our experience with him and how amazing he is. My daughter and I were both so saddened to hear of his passing. It is obvious that he lived his life to the fullest and gave people & animals everything he had to offer. I'm glad, although brief, that we were able to meet him. We will remember what he taught us & know that he is in a better place now.

I knew Gary for about 5 years. What a remarkable man he was. He helped me in my dog training business and was about to enroll as an apprentice so he could get certified as a professional dog trainer. However, we both knew he knew as much about dogs as I did. I just heard of his death, today. I'm so sorry I wasn't there to support his family. If anyone would like to reach out to me via email (Brotherofthewolf@comcast.net) or cell phone (856.981.8957) I'll be glad to be a shoulder for you to cry upon.
Both the human and the canine world mourns you, my friend. Rest in peace; be with all those that have crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge.
With Love,
Dawn Watson

Gary you will be missed. Although it has been many years since we last talked to one another, it only seems like yesterday. What I will remember is your exhuberant energy and your zest for life. May God the father give you peace. My sincere condolences to the family.

Gary, You will always be in my heart as a father, and a friend. Whenever i had a bad day you'd always cheer me up.. You had teh utmost respect for all of your Animal Control officers that came into Camden County Animal Shelter. You taught everyone respect, honesty, and witha kind word showed people in yoru actions and yoru everyday life what the word "Friend" meant. You were truely an amazing talented and heart-warming man. I am no longer in Animal Control but am Dog Training privately just another passion we both shared in life. I remember swapping training ideas with you and exchanging techniques back and forth when we learned a new one. Thankyou for the guidence in my own life that you gave me and thankyou for always having a heart for the "UNDER DOG" .. I was unable to come to your funeral due to my x-boss making me work and not letting me off.. but whiel i was in Camden Cuty, I shed a tear for you and your family.. I wish you were still here but I know you are in a much better place then I am today. You will forever be missed.. I spoke with you 3 hours before you passsed away..and even in those last 3 hours you were on the phone with me trying to find a home for the parrot I had found in cherry hill.. I knwo you can't read this now.. but because of you that parrot in cherry hill found its way home to its owner in haddonfield!..
Thankyou, All my utmost respects,

I went to Camden County Animal Shelter only weeks before Gary's passing. My husband and I met with Gary who took all the time in the world to work out the new dog with our dog and advised us on his thoughts. I watched as at the same time he coached a young teen volunteer how to walk an enthusiastic pit bull. Within 5 minutes the teen had the dog under control. When I went to pick our dog up, I gave Gary a hug and said what a wonderful thing he was doing and he was very appreciative - said he couldn't do it without his wife approving him to train dogs at home. What a loss for Shelter, such a caring and giving person. He sure was special, he touched my heart with just the one meeting. God Bless his family, Gary will be missed by many and blessed by God.
