Obituary of John C. Anton, Jr.

John C. Anton, Jr. “Jack,” 79 years old of Brigantine, New Jersey passed away on Sunday morning on October 21, 2018. Jack served as a Paratrooper with the 101st-ABN Division Airborne – Panthers 505 from 1958-1964.  He was employed by the City of Ventnor as the Assistant Public Works Director and went on to work for Kisby Plumbing until he retired in 2001. 

 

He is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Anton (Fowler); brother-in-law, Jim Boyd and sister, Nancy Boyd.

 

He is survived by his love, his best friend, his life partner, Dolores (Dee) Miller; sadly missed by Guy Wineland (Lisa), Linden IV and Lily; Dana Wineland (Steve), Mandy Wineland (Jackie); sons, Jack Anton (Theresa), Kevin Anton; sisters, Patricia Toland, Marie Keena (Andrew), Margaret Nelson (Nel) and Kathy Herbein (Rich); grandchildren, Jack, Dorian; nephew, Bobby Boyd and many other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

 

Jack was a proud member of the American Legion.  He loved playing golf with family and friends especially at Pomona Golf Course.  He served as an Ambassador for The Links at Brigantine Beach for nine years.  He had a passion for fishing, sailing and scuba diving.  Many local fishermen considered him a legend for his many accomplishments with a rod and reel.  Jack will be remembered as a genuine and caring man who loved his family and friends more than anything.  He was quick with a smile and a laugh and was a true friend to all who knew him.  Go Giants!!!
