We were sorry to hear of your loss and remember with fondness the times we met at the local benefit suppers in our Slanesville community. There were always hugs and sincere interest in what was going on in our lives. We never parted without more hugs and the parting line of "we'll see you same place next time". I still wear the ribbon cross she admired each time we met. God bless you and keep you safe as you continue your journey.

I was lucky enough to be Bonnie's roommate at Towson University ( then State Teachers College) all 4 years. With her brilliant smile came a raucous laugh and a joy of life, a gentle kindness and love for children, her friends, and most of all, her soulmate Bob-the love of her life from the age of 16.
I see Bon on her bed in our dorm room, rehearsing her lines from Auntie Mame, waving a footling cigarette holder and trying to look like she knew how to smoke. She made a dazzling Mame! I see her with an orange, a ping pong ball and a flashlight, figuring out her lesson on the moon, earth, and sun when we were practice teaching. I remember going to the Union Memorial hospital the evening Michelle was born, and the love in that room as we drank a glass of wine and toasted this precious baby.
Bonnie had a joyful life and she brought such love, laughter, and joy to all of us who knew her- the hundreds of children she guided and enriched, her many, many friends, and most of all her cherished family. And, let us not forget, with that love came amazing food! She and her Mom taught me their secrets of a successful pie crust, but, alas, mine never tasted like Bonnie's. She was the wind beneath Bob's sails, as he has always been for her, especially these last years. Theirs is a love story for the ages.
I love you, Bonnie. I miss you.
