Rae Elise, Joanie Miller and I were best friends during our 3 years as student nurses at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. Then we each married and I moved out of state. Thirty years later, when they found out my husband had just left me, they drove to Raleigh, NC, and spirited me away to the beach for 3 days of R and R. That is the kind of friendship that happens once in a lifetime, never to be forgotten.
I'm grateful that the suffering both of them type flF3yendured is over and they are at peace.
