Obituary of Anthony J. Robb

Robb, Dr. Anthony J. 51 - of Collingswood passed away peacefully at home as the sun rose on Weds. Oct. 12, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandhun, Teresa and his dog Atticus were by his side. Born on Jan. 12, 1960 in Stamford, Ct., he resided most of his life in Southern NJ. He traveled extensively, including living and teaching in Costa Rica, Mexico City and Spain. Tony was a graduate of Glassboro State College. He then received his M.A from Villanova University and went on to earn his Ph.D. from Temple University. He was a esteemed Professor and Department Chair of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Rowan University where he challenged his students to do their best. Tony is predeceased by his beloved mother Janet I (nee Sheely), who was the inspiration behind his love of music, especially the piano. He is also predeceased by his brother James. He is survived by his father James (companion Felecia) of Allentown, PA, his brothers Michael (Stacy) of Mays Landing, and William (Marsha) of Vineland. He also leaves behind many relatives, colleagues, dear friends, and students. Tony had a passion for music, art, books, poetry and interior designing. He also enjoyed playing tennis. He took great pride in preparing his favorite recipes and hosting elegant dinner parties for his special guests. Tony will be greatly missed by all, but forever remembered. Relatives and friends are welcome to celebrate his life on Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 at St. John Church, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dr. Robb's memory may be made to the Rowan University Foundation, Shpeen Hall, 2nd Floor, 40 North Academy St., Glassboro, NJ 08028.
