Obituary of Dennis Michael Lynch

Dennis Lynch age 76 died suddenly at home with his wife, Carole Lane Lynch by his side.

He was born in Hoboken, NJ on 9 March 1942.

 

After school he joined the US Marine Corps on 28 April 1960 and served two tours (1965-1966 and 1968-1969) in Viet Nam where he was a victim of Agent Orange spraying. He left the Marine Corps on 15 October 1971and worked as an OR technician at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital where he met his future wife.

 

He attended Camden County College and Stockton State College receiving a BA in Criminal Justice.

 

He decided to return to the military and joined the US Air Force Reserve on 6 January 1976. Due to his personality, he was chosen to become a Recruiter and returned to active duty. He was very successful and rose to Chief of Recruiting for the 514th Military Air Lift Wing. He retired from active duty on 1 October 1985. He then worked as a substitute teacher until he developed medical issues.

The VA declared that he had a 100% Service Connected Disability due to Agent Orange.

 

He is survived by his wife, Carole.

 

As per his wishes, a private ceremony with military honors

was held on 19 January 2019.

 

Dennis enjoyed nature and treasured his home in the Pine Barrens. He spent many happy hours watching the birds and animals living there.

Those who would like to share in a tribute to his memory are encouraged to set out a container of birdseed or food scraps and marvel at the beauty, fragility and interconnectedness of all life.
