Obituary of Virginia Jean Peck

Virginia Jean Peck (nee Schumann) went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2012. She was born on April 28, 1931 in Greenville, PA. She was the daughter of Arthur and Louise Schumann. Beloved wife of Lawrence M. Peck, Sr. whom she had been married to for 58 years. Dear mother of Maribeth L. Lloyd and her husband Glenn of Shamong, NJ and Attorney, Lawrence M. Peck, Jr. and his wife Anne of Winstead, CT. Loving grandmother of Katie R. Paetzold and her husband Ryan, Dylan T. Lloyd and Joshua L. Peck. Virginia received her B.S. degree in education from Edinboro University and her M.S. in education from Western Connecticut State University. She was a teacher for many years and taught in PA, OH and CT. In 1988 she was chosen Teacher of the Year for the Brookfield, CT school district. She also taught Sunday School and was active in the United Methodist Women, church and community choirs and the Red Hats Society. She loved reading, music, travel and spending time with her family. A memorial service will be held on March 3, 2012, 2:30pm at the Fountains at Cedar Parke, 114 Hayes Mill Rd., Atco, NJ 08004. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 3 Eves Dr., Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
