Obituary of Beth Anne Petrakis

Give me strength and wisdom when others need my touch.a soothing word and the joy of laughter, pour in me compassion that becomes a nurturing touch. Beth Anne Petrakis (nee Bartels) was a natural caregiver. She was a mother, daughter, nurse and friend who never said a bad word about anyone. So, don't grieve for me. After a long and courageous battle she is free. In the evening of Thursday February 23rd Beth heard God's call. She took his hand, turned her back and left it all. Beth was born in Allentown PA and had been a resident of Atco for the past 18 years. She was a graduate of Gloucester County College and worked as a Registered Nurse at Kennedy Memorial University Hospital in Stratford for the last 15 years. Early on Beth was an avid league bowler. She felt deeply about her faith and often prayed the rosary on her way to work. She volunteered at the Assumption Church Bingo and helped serve breakfast after Mass. Beth was the "fun aunt" and loved kids. She was a people person who loved her friends, hospital family and patients. She enjoyed reading, traveling the world or just being able to help. Good night star shine, you twinkle above us now and because of you, we twinkle below. Beth is the widow of her late husband George A. Petrakis. She is survived by her daughters Megan and Amanda Petrakis, her partner and long time friend Rosairo Palella, her mother & stepfather Barbara (nee Bozarth) & Joseph Veilleux. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Jo and Kimberly Bartels, her niece Emma Bartels and her grandparents Clarence & Edith Claypoole as well as her step brothers Daniel & Joseph Veilleux, her stepsister Valadene Veilleux, her aunts, uncles, many cousins and their families. Beth was loved by many and she will be missed by all. Relatives, Friends and her hospital family are invited to remember, celebrate and pay tribute to Beth on Tuesday evening between 6 pm and 9 pm and on Wednesday morning between 8:30 and 9:30 am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, Atco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Christ the Redeemer Parish, Assumption Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr. Atco. Fr.
