Obituary of Gokalbhai K. Patel

Gokalbhai K. Patel, age 90, passed away on Saturday, Marcy 23, 2019.

Visitation and Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the LeRoy Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ  08004.  Cremation will follow.

Early Life

Gokalbhai Kashibhai Patel was born on February 1st, 1929, in Joshikuva gam of Anklav, Gujurat.  He was the eldest son of Kashibhai and Surajben Patel.  Kashibhai and Surajben raised two sons and two daughters.

Due to the unfortunate early death of his father, Gokalbhai became the head of the household at a young age.  This responsibility for taking care of his mother and younger siblings lead him into a lifelong commitment for taking care of those people around him and his community.

Married Life

On May 16th, 1947 Gokalbhai met and married his wife of 71 years, Kamlaben Patel. Gokalbhai and Kamlaben raised three sons and two daughters.

Later Years

After spending over 60 years in India raising a family and developing his community, Gokalbhai moved to the United States to spend the last 30 years of his life.  He was the grandfather (dada) to 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 10 great-grandchildren.

Legacy

Across multiple countries, states, and cities Gokalbhai's family has managed to maintain a close-knit connection.  His dedication to family and home is survived by his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
