I can’t remember the first time I met Cliff. But I do remember him instantly warming up to my husband’s family on Super Bowl Sunday and bravely trying some Filipino food. I remember him hugging it out with one of my drunk friends in my home on NYE because they both liked the same football team (The Giants) while everyone else in the room liked the Eagles. I remember my Goldendoodle Bentley stalking his lap for pets and snuggles. I remember he donated 20 pounds of deer, moose, and turkey meat (that he hunted) for our Crossfit Pet Rescue Charity. But Bentley stole half of the night before because I left it on my counter top. I remember that he wasn’t mad. I remember that he counseled me on the best ways to demolish concrete pillars in my yard, and lent me his sledgehammer to complete the job. I also remember how deeply he loved his bride Jill and always took care of her, looked so proudly at her, and encouraged and cheered her on as she reached amazing fitness goals these past few years. There will be a huge void in all the lives Cliff has touched.
