I am a former student of Ms. Shepherd and am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was, without a doubt, one of my favorite teachers. I remember her as an excellent and dedicated educator. She was kind and conducted her classes with skill and humor. Ms Shepherd demanded the best from her students, and gave us her all in return. She continually tried to get me to verbally participate in class. I was extremely shy and could not comply, but so enjoyed talking with her in a small group. I am sorry that, due to my introverted nature, she never realized the positive impact that she had on my education and life. I became a class room teacher and taught science for 26 years. Please know that Ms. Shepherd was loved and respected by her students. I will always remember her with fondness.
