Obituary of Mildred A. Grier

Mildred Agnes Grier was born August 20, 1930 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Mildred married the late James Grier of Chesilhurst, New Jersey in 1956. There were no children from that union. Mildred was the seventh child of the late Harry Carl and Mary Dale Washington who had thirteen children from that union. Mildred attended the Philadelphia Public Schools, including West Philadelphia High School. She also attended beauty and cosmetic school and became a hairdresser. Mildred was also a caregiver for retarded children for over twenty years. She is survived by a brother, Donald Washington of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, four sisters, Sarah E. Simmons of Willingboro, New Jersey, Phyllis A. Gunter of Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania, Marion Brodie of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, and Barbara Washington of Willingboro, New Jersey, a brother-in-law, James Gunter of Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, and many friends. Mildred will live in our hearts always and forever as a loving and caring sister and friend.
