Obituary of Frank W. Mercer

Frank W. Mercer, age 76, of Atco, NJ, passed away on Monday November 25, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. 

Beloved husband of 48 years of the late Barbara Mercer.  Loving father of Ann (Fred) Morrison, Tammy (Todd) Crump, Dawn Messick, and Vicky (Mark) Gindville.  Proud grandfather of Erika, Sarah, Ben, Danny, Josh, Ryan, Kevin, Heather, and Courtney; great-grandfather of Torissa, Sabryna, Julia, and Ellie.  Dear brother of Warren (Karen) Mercer, the late Bill Mercer, and his late twin John Mercer.  He will also be sadly missed by his dog Laddie Boy.

Frank was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a longtime resident of Atco, NJ.  He owned his own business for many years, where he taught his son-in-law Todd the cabinet making trade.  He went on to work as a cabinet marker for the Carpenters Union in Philadelphia. 

Frank was known by his family and neighbors as Mr. Santa Claus.  He enjoyed giving things to others, whether it was vegetables from his garden or small toys to children at the diner.  He enjoyed playing blackjack in the local casinos.  Frank made sure to teach all of his children and grandchildren how to play blackjack when they turned 21.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominoes every Sunday with his family.

A viewing will be held on Monday December 2, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ.  A prayer service will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, NJ.  Condolences may be shared at www.lpwoosterfuneralhome.com.
