Obituary of Lorraine E. Brown

Lorraine Brown (Retallick), 89, of Atco, NJ, passed away, April 14 of natural causes. She was born in Kulpmont, PA, Feb. 23, 1923, and was the daughter of the late George Retallick and Florence Reed. Lorraine was a member of Christ the Redeemer Parish. She graduated with a cosmetology degree from Dobbins Vocational School. Lorraine was married to James E. Brown on December 31, 1941. She is survived by her children Diane (Dave) Humphries, Paul (Karen) Brown and Todd Brown; her grandchildren Heather (Humphries) Tyndale, David Humphries, Tracey Brown, Amanda Brown, Jacob Brown and Jonathan Brown; her great-grandchildren Briana Brown, Tyler Tyndale, David Humphries, Jr., Caden Humphries, Brooke Tyndale, Alicia Regler, and her siblings George, Marie (Scalfaro), William, and Eileen (Eaves). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers John, Kenny, Paul, Donald, Tommy, Richard; and sisters Florence and Doris Ann; and one grandchild, Michele Brown. Her oldest son, James Brown, died on April 16, 2012. Lorraine had a spirited disposition and lived life on her terms. She was generous to a fault with everything she had. She could deliver a story like no one else and her wry sense of humor and quick wit often caught listeners off guard, even in her final days. Family was the focus of Lorraine's life. She kept track of everyone and worried about all. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ, and Kennedy Health in Stratford, NJ, for their compassion and care. A viewing will be held April 19, Thursday evening after 7:00PM and again Friday morning 9:00 to 10:15am at the LeRoy P Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Assumption Church/Christ the Redeemer Parish, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ at 11:00AM. Interment at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, NJ.
