Obituary of Anthony Severino, Jr.
Anthony R. Severino, Jr., age 86 yrs, of Marlton, NJ passed away on December 14, 2019.
Anthony is survived by his sons Anthony, III (Victoria), Jeffrey (Sue), and Jonathan (Danika) and granddaughter, Willa Rosaleigh. Anthony raised his children with his wife Elynor in Cinnaminson, New Jersey on Locust Lane in the Rolling Greens neighborhood. He lived for a long time in Mount Laurel’s Birchfield neighborhood on East Orleander Road. Anthony also lived in Ocean City New Jersey for 5 years and owned a vacation property in Sea lsle City for 10 years.
Anthony was born and raised in South Philadelphia by his parents Antonio Roberto and Anna who immigrated from Italy. Anthony served in the Air National Guard and the Army where he specialized in communications and radio operation. He went to Temple University where he earned a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. Anthony started his career as an engineer of electronic communications equipment in the aerospace industry and worked for Ford Aerospace and performed installations and testing at places such as Vandenburg AFB, Hawaii, and Cape Canaveral, FL. His career grew and transitioned into sales, marketing, and sales management working for Infotron Systems and Timeplex.
Anthony liked photography and gadgets owned many cameras, radios, and stereos. He loved to salt water fish from the surf, jetties, and boats. He owned several boats that he used to go fishing, joy rides, and water skiing with his family and friends. He loved the beach, spent many weeks of the summer in Cape May Point and off-season fishing in Long Beach Island. He loved music from many genres and could play piano by ear. He loved eating steak, pretzels, and donuts and drinking chianti, ginger ale, and coffee. Anthony was a kind man and he never complained. Anthony suffered from memory loss and dementia and lived in a group home for dementia after injuring his brain in an accident until his death 8 years later. He will be remembered for being a savvy businessman, an engineer, and a family man. A graveside service will be held during the summer.
