Obituary of Dorothy Olive Fitzgibbons

Dorothy Olive Fitzgibbons (nee Fiet) age 98 years of Shamong, NJ passed away on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019. Dorothy was raised in Chicago and spent the majority of her life in the south suburbs of Chicago. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Thomas Fitzgibbons (married 55 years) and her children, Thomas Fitzgibbons, Jr. (survived by Maryann), Dore Heinzel, son-in-law Steve Zetye and granddaughter Laura McIver. She is survived by her children, Laura (Mark) Seidner, Cynthia Zetye and James (Amanda) Fitzgibbons. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and is survived by her 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. After growing up an only child, her ever growing family brought her so much joy. She was delighted with each new arrival and despite her large brood, each one held a special place in her heart. Dorothy enjoyed or loved to read, socialize with friends and family, watch late night television, collect and display photos of all her family members and travel to spend time with her family that spread all across the country. She was always present to both support her family through hard times and celebrate in their joys and successes. Her family was her world. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
