Obituary of Marjorie Ruth Montanez

It is with a heavy heart that I inform all of you of the passing of our beautiful Mother, Marjorie (Margie) Ruth Montanez (nee Abrams). After almost 92 years on this beautiful earth and a short but serious illness mom has moved on. She was comfortable and surrounded by her daughters and the unmeasurable love of her family. Mom was a very loving person who wouldn't hesitate to put her foot in your butt if you needed it (my sisters not me), and she was just as quick to forgive. Born December 26, 1927 she was witness to 16 presidents, The Great Depression, Repeal of prohibition (she was too young to understand it, but there's a family story here I can tell you in private), WWII, Desegregation of Public Schools, The Cold War, The Civil Rights Act, NASA. MLK and JFK as well as the loss of these American heroes, a man on the moon and the list could go on and on. Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and even Great Great Grandmother. I think it's safe to say mom lived a full life. She is survived by her seven daughters, Diana Kolansky(nee Sheer), Margie Franks(nee Sheer), JoAnn Oakes(nee Sheer), Ruthie Greenwood-Campi (nee Sheer), Leslie Donna Joyce (nee Sheer), Russhell Pirozzi (nee Montanez), Migdalia Montanez, and her son Robert Montanez. She is also survived by 20 Grandchildren 29 Great-grandchildren and 6 Great-great-grandchildren. She also has a few daughters, that are not hers by blood, but by her heart and ability to love unconditionally. You will be in our hearts forever. Thank you and may your years be filled with family, friends and love. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday January 4, 2020 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the LeRoy P.
