Obituary of Hafia Butenis

(nee Michalezka) On June 26, 2009 at the age of 92 died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Charles P. Butenis. Devoted mother of Patricia A. Butenis, Linda Butenis-Vorsa and Donna Mulraney. Beloved grandmother of Charlie, Katie and Sam, and beloved mother-in-law of Nicholas Vorsa and Andrew Mulraney. She is predeceased by her siblings, Ivan, Paranka, Frank, Nick and Mary Mucowski. A longtime resident of Atco, NJ, Hafia and Charlie bought their home in Atco in 1950, moved in the house in 1954 where they raised their three daughters and took care of two grandmothers. Mom proudly volunteered hundreds of hours at West Jersey Hospital over the years. She was a member of the Assumption Church Altar and Rosary Society and the Atco Senior Citizens, along with being an avid gardener and animal lover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Assumption RC Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ 08004 and again on Thursday morning from 9:00am to 9:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Interment, Gate of Heaven, Berlin, NJ.
