Obituary of Elizabeth A. Feasler

Agnes Elizabeth "Betty" Feasler (nee Quirk), age 91, formerly of Collingswood, passed away on Thursday May 31, 2012 at Virtua Hospital, Berlin. Betty was born in Philadelphia on December 6, 1920, the 2nd child of 5 to James C. Quirk, Sr. and Agnes G. (nee McCormick). The family moved to Collingswood when she was 2. Betty spent 87 years on Merrick Avenue, with her parents then moved up to the next block with her beloved husband, Edward S. Feasler where they eventually became the parents of 7 children. While raising her children, Betty was active in the St. John's School PTA in Collingswood and also served as a Past President of the Diocesan PTA. Beginning in 1958, Betty and her husband became very active, through the years, in serving as foster parents for 58 babies who were awaiting adoption through Catholic Charities. After her children were grown and on their own, she spent some time visiting them in Guam, Florida, Mississippi, Oregon and also had some fun in Hawaii, Majorca and Spain. On Christmas Eve in 2008, Betty suffered a stroke and after a brief time in rehabilitation, she moved in with her oldest daughter in Blue Anchor with whom she lived until her death. Even suffering a stroke couldn't keep her down! During the past 2 years she flew to Oregon to attend her grandson's high school graduations and also went to Connecticut to attend another of her grandson's Master's Degree Ceremony. Betty is the widow of her late husband Edward, who passed away in 1966. She is the mother of James (Joan), Edward (Kelly), Kevin (Susan), Kathy Creary (Andy), Cindy Feasler and the late John Andrew who passed away in 1977 and Margaret Mary Zeck who passed away in 2009. Betty was the loving and proud grandmother of Michele Todaro, Brian Feasler, Patrick creary, Stephanie Zeck (Ari), Sarah Palese (William), Matthew Zeck (Melissa), Peter Zeck, Edward Feasler, Jr., Daniel Feasler, Ronald Feasler (Caroline), Tiffany Feasler, Nicholas Feasler (Amanda) and great grandmother of Tony Todaro, Abigail Zeck-Sax, Natalie, Nina and Billy Palese, Randon, Liliana and Rylan Feasler. She was "Aunt Betty" to many nieces and nephews and is also survived and will be sadly missed by her son-in-law John Zeck, her sister-in-law Elaine Quirk, her former daughter-in-law Betty Feasler as well as her longtime companion and dancing partner Joseph Putiri, Sr. Relatives and friend's are invited to Mrs. Feasler's viewing on Monday morning at Christ the Redeemer Parish, Church of St. Anthony 436 Pennington Ave. Waterford (corner of Old White Horse Pike & Pennington Ave) from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
