Warm memories come streaming back when I think of how Frank impacted our lives. Growing up, we had our own inner city version of Andy of Mayberry, that included catching catfish at the Cooper River, then giving them to the car attendants at the adjacent high rise. Mrs. Francolino would sometimes greet us in her apron to serve a freshly made Stromboli or, if we were lucky, her seasonal Pitzelles.
We would, occasionally, top that morning activity with a rousing game of billboard tag as we hung suspended over ongoing traffic coming up Federal Street. Or refining our creative ways of getting an extra pack of peanut butter Tandy Takes from the Famous delicatessen on Marlton Pike. Or getting the Gottlieb pinball machine to give you more than your quarter's worth. ( any street kid worth his salt knows Gottlieb is better than Bally) I'm sure at this point, Andy would have told Opie we were a bad influence.
Frank's back beat provided the foundation to the epitome of 13 year old garage bands: The Velvet Doorstop. (Although no one was demanding a 50 reunion tour of that band, Frank still kept a few pieces of memorabilia). And his infectious smile and far reaching warmth continued to support many of us throughout the years. The man would do anything and go anywhere for the people he cared about.
A decade or more would go by between times I would see Frank as an adult. I was grateful we could reconnect at the end. Although we change and grow as the years pass, there's a certain essence of who we are that remains unchanged. In Frank's case that always came through.
Through his actions he makes us realize that the thing most important in life is how you treat friends and family. We can hold Frank up as a shining example of how to live a loving life.

I met Frank 25 years ago working at RCA. His sense of humor and infectious laugh would make you laugh til your ribs hurt. From 17 Building to the Ops Building, we remained the RCA family. Gonna miss you Frank

Frank was my next door neighbor growing up I'm Camden. I remember fondly his cute face. You could not order a more loving, giving family to live next to than the Francolinos. One memory that stands out in my mind is overhearing name calling directed to Frank from some kid. Upon hearing 'chicken' mrs Francolino opened the screen door and said in her calm manner, "did I hear chicken?" "No problem; I have it in the refrigerator." While kids were the same in the 50's, the close knit neighborhood and watchful parental eye kept bullying in check. My condolences to the Francolino family for their loss.

Such great memories growing up with Frank in Camden and our years at St.Joes grammer school. Frank was my first boyfiend I think it was like 3rd grade. Puppy love and a crush I had on him. He was one of the kindest and the most loving friend a person could ask for as a young boy and also as a grown man !!! Frank you will be sooooo missed by all the people you have touched in your lifetime and I am so glad and proud that I got to be one of them. RIP

I have many, many, great memories of working with Frank, His father, and his brother Joe at RCA Deptford and Camden.
I will always remember his love of fishing! I remember him giving me a ride home one day from RCA. It was 100 degrees and I had a bucket of live minnows between my feet on the floor of the front seat. By the time I got home, both my feet and legs were soaked. We laughed hysterically all the way home. Although, I think Frank was laughing a little harder than I was!
Frank also loved Halloween. We spent many years doing a haunted house, scaring the daylights out of both children and adults as well. I am sure they are still having nightmares about it to this day. It was great fun.
Our Deepest Sympathy, Thoughts, and Prayers to the Francolino Family

I can't believe it's been four years since you left us Frank. A day doesn't go by that I don't say "Good Morning Frank". L-3 is so different without your bubbly personality. Sure do miss you friend. Love, Debbie

Not too often you would see Frank dressed up. Always saw Frank with his L-3 shirt on.

It will be two years on Sunday since you left your family and friends and became God's angel. Everyday I go to work I envision you sweeping up leaves or snow around the Ops Building. Your legacy will live on at L-3 Communications-East. Rest in peace my friend.
