Obituary of Audrey E. Ellis

What we call death, God calls a new beginning. Ashley MacArthur, her granddaughter wrote: When you take your last breath, what do you think about? When you take your last breath, do you open your eyes to look at your family one last time? When you take your last breath, do you think of all the people you leave behind? .I sit here thinking as the night is falling, I start recalling my own home town. I see their faces in familiar places to take me home to the people I left behind. Home to the love I know I'll find. Audrey E. Ellis (nee Eller), age 76 of Sicklerville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 18, 2012 in the home of her daughter and caregiver Beverly, Ronald & her granddaughter Ashley. Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears but laugh and talk of me as though I were beside you. I loved you so. Audrey was born in Camden, the daughter of Maurice & Myrtle (nee Ridgeway) Eller. She had spent her early years in Verga and had been a recent resident of Sicklerville. Audrey was a "short woman" but she was full of it! She was stubborn, sassy and tenacious but most of all, loving. She had worked as a Solderer at Swemko in Cherry Hill for 16 years and at Borden Foods on the inspection line in Pennsauken for 2 years. At home she loved Betty Boop, to read or work on her jigsaw and crossword puzzles. On the weekends, she never missed a yard sale and often went out trash picking with Ron. Agatha Christie said; "But surely, for everything you have to love, you have to pay some price." We need, in love, to practice only this: letting each other go. Audrey is the widow of her late husband of 49 years Cassel, Ellis, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Deborah & her husband John Davis, Audrey & her husband Larry Brooks, Cheryl Harris, Cassel, III & his wife Kelly Ellis, Fred & his wife Kris Ellis, Beverly & her husband Ronald Casmer and Dave & his wife Patty Ellis Reader. Mrs. Ellis is the proud grandmother of 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and the late "boy that always smiles" Kyle Harris. She is the sister of Ray Fuss and Jacob Eller and also survived and will be sadly missed by her best friend Rosie McAfee and her niece Anna Schina. Relatives and friends are invited to remember "boo-oop-be-doop", celebrate the perfect yard sale purchase and pay tribute to our mother and grandmother on Monday evening between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory 441 White Horse Pike, Atco where a funeral ceremony will held at 8:00 pm, Pastor Gary Clark, officiating. Inurnment will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd.
