Obituary of Robert P. Smith

Robert P. Smith "Smokey" lifelong resident of Atco, NJ age 84 passed away on September 7, 2012. "Smokey" will be remembered by all of the signs that he painted for businesses up and down the White Horse Pike and surrounding areas. He received his nickname from his baseball years. He was a pitcher and he could really "smoke" the batters. He even threw a "No Hitter" game. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Doris McCann of PA, Marie Griffin of Waterford, NJ, Joseph Smith, Jr. of Berlin, NJ, John E. Smith of Blue Anchor, NJ, Joann Primavera, Glenn Smith and Beverly Smith all of Atco, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00am followed by a time of remembrance and visitation with the family until 2:00pm at the Berlin VFW Post #6253, 34 Chestnut Ave., Berlin, NJ. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the funeral home to help defer funeral expenses would be appreciated.
