John Walls, Jr.

Obituary of John J. Walls, Jr.

The greatest measure of a man is not measured in the crucible of imperfections, but rather, in the metamorphosis of what he becomes. John J. "Bones" Walls, Jr. had a charisma that was larger than life. He was a desperado who burned his candle at both ends, but he lived! Neil Young had written; "It's better to burn out than to fade away" John's candle was suddenly snuffed out while he was home on Friday October 5, 2012. John was born in Cherry Hill and had been a resident of Westville. "Bones" will fondly be remembered as an eclectic ladies man who liked to party, spend time sittin' 'round the fire pit or fishin' at the Timbercreek bridge or Almonesson Lake. He was an avid sports fan who loved throwing horse shoes and cheering on his Eagles and Phillies. John loved his children and worked hard for them. He worked at All Green Landscaping for 10 years then as an over the road Truck Driver for Prime, Inc and was most recently driving for Thompson Trucking for just the past 2 months. I've been everywhere, man. Crossed the desert's bare, man. I've breathed the mountain air, man. Of travel I've had my share, man. I've been everywhere. The road to hell, along the way, is paved with good intentions. Some believe that no good deed go unpunished in the end. One good deed, one gift, that "Bones" left to treasure is one that knows no time and no place. John had generously donated a lasting legacy, the gift of life. John is the son of the late John J. Walls, Sr. and is survived by his mother Mary & her husband Michael Metro. He is the father of Nicholas, Daniel and Breanna Walls and is the brother of Deborah DeLeon and David Walls. John is also survived and will be sadly missed by his mentor; brother and team driver Clayton Saxer as well as his many friends and drivers all over the country. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Walls family to remember John, celebrate "Bones'" larger than life eclectic charisma and pay tribute to the desperado on those moonlit highways with the pedal to the metal on Saturday afternoon between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory 441 White Horse Pike, Atco where a memorial ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm, Matthew Iannacone, officiating.
