Obituary of Gerald E. Heggan

Gerald Heggan Jr, 61, of Manahawkin, formerly of Blue Anchor NJ departed this life on Januray 6, 2013. He went home to be with the Lord, and he died peacefully in his sleep with his children and wife by his side. He fought a long hard battle with cancer. Born in Camden NJ to Gerald and Anna Heggan. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1969, he went on to receive his BA in teaching from Glassboro College, his Masters Degree from The University of Maine. He taught science for 28 years in Maine and finished his teaching career at Pemberton Township School, NJ. He was a big Phillies and Dallas cowboys fan. He loved to go duck hunting with his son. He also always loved hunting and fishing. Gerald is survived by his mother Anna Heggan, wife, Eleanor Heggan, son, Gerald Heggan III, daughter Dr. Kacy Heggan, his brother Allen (Joanie) Heggan. His nephew Matthew and niece Elizabeth. He is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles. Services for Gerald will be held Friday January 11, 2013 at 11:00am, at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco. With a visitation prior from 10:00am to 11:00am.
