Obituary of Ret. Col. Joseph Capuano

On July 23, 2009 of Atco, NJ age 88yrs. Beloved husband of 63 years to Virginia R. (nee Hanak). Devoted father of Susan & Brian Buchanan of Litchfield Park, AZ, Maggie & Gus Benedetti of Hammonton, NJ and the late Danna Capuano. Dear brother of Sally Capuano (Judy) and Carmen Cornely. Proud grandfather of Amy Capuano, Gina Lazaris (Sam), Carly Novak and Matthew Roberts. Great grandfather of Andrew, Peter, Eva and Yianni. Mr. Capuano retired as a Colonel from the US Army. He was a highly decorated veteran who proudly served his country during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. During that time he received numerous distinguishing awards and medals including; Legion of Merit Medals, numerous Bronze Stars, Presidential Citations and a Vietnamese Medal of Valour. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, beginning promptly at 2:30pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ (856)767-0539. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
