Obituary of Thomas E. Howard
Passed peacefully from this world on Friday April 5,2013 with his loving wife of 49 years Betty Jean by his side, holding his hand as she did in life. Born in Philadelphia, Tom was proud to serve his country in Korea in the Air Force, and to then serve in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, retiring after 35 years with the rank of Master Sergeant. After his return from Korea, Tom joined the Philadelphia Police Department, serving for 32 years until his retirement as a detective. He then worked for the Philadelphia Eagles as the head of their maintenance division for 10 years. Tom was an avid fisherman, and spent many a day with friends and family on his boat. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Sue, and his brothers Edward and Robert. Survived by his wife Betty Jean, his sister Laura, daughter Rosemary, grandchildren Jason, Kimberly, Tiffany, Heather, Courtney, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Viewing Thursday April 11, 2013 from 10am to 12pm at Leroy P Wooster Funeral Home 441 White Horse Pike Atco, NJ with service to follow. Internment to follow at 230pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Rd Newtown, PA 18940.
