Obituary of Robin J Trucksess
Robin J. Trucksess, 77, of Marlton, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 28, 2013. He was born November 12, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late Robin A. and Olla Trucksess. Beloved husband of 56 years to Dorothy M. (Conway). Devoted father of Joseph R. (Nancy) of Haddon Heights, NJ, Karen T. Barry of Ocean View, NJ and Robin J. (Teresa) of Havre de Grace, MD. Loving grandfather to Lindsay (Christopher) Hopkins of Northeast, MD, Luke J. Trucksess of Haddon Heights, NJ, Zachary J. Trucksess of Mt. Ephraim, NJ, Robin Barry and Shawna Barry of Ocean View, NJ. Proud great-grandfather to Matthew Hopkins. Dear brother of the late Olla (Betty) Haines of Philadelphia, PA. Also survived by sister-in-laws Mary, Kathleen, Bernadine, Eileen and many nieces and nephews.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. His career included work as a pipe fitter at the Philadelphia Naval Yard, draftsman, designer, senior lead piping designer for coal and nuclear power plants with United Engineers and Raytheon. He was actively involved in the Lindenwold Father & Son Association for many years coaching baseball at all levels and serving in many different capacities including past president. He was founder of the first basketball program in Lindenwold comprised of an intramural program for all borough children and travel squads which participated in the South Jersey Basketball League.
Rob and Dorothy spent many happy years traveling the country. He cared deeply and loved his family unconditionally. He lived his life by the credo do your best in all endeavors – never a reason to give less than your full effort.
Spending time on his patio tending to his flowers and birds and feeling the warm rays of the sun upon his face brought him great pleasure in later years.
Cremation was private. Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects anytime between 12 PM through 5 PM on Tuesday, July 2nd at The Sagemore Community Center located at 900 Sagemore Drive, Marlton, NJ 08053, behind The Promenade. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Robin’s name be made to nonprofit Cape May County Zookeepers at CMCZAAZK, PO Box 893, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, notating that it be for the birds.
