Obituary of Harry J. Norris, Jr.

On August 26, 2009 of Atco, NJ, age 82yrs. Beloved husband of Joan M. (nee Dewey) for 59yrs. Loving father of Harry J. Norris, III and his wife Lorraine of Ellicott City, MD, Ann M. Walter and her husband Francis of Southampton, NJ, Thomas Norris of Milford, DE, John Norris of Baltimore, MD, and Kenneth E. Norris and his wife Lora of Towson, MD. Dear brother of Constance Schartel of Reading, PA and William Norris and his wife Ginny of New Port Richui, FL. Devoted grandfather of Susan, Harry IV, Xavier, Coryne, Julie, Jared, Collin, Angela, Brandon, Jessica, Connor, Gavin and Keegan. Proud great grandfather of 8 with one more on the way. Mr. Norris proudly served his country as a Navy SEAL for 22yrs and was a member of UDT Team 7. He was a highly decorated veteran who traveled all over the world and served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a founder of VFW Post 10116 of Voorhees, NJ where he served as the first Post Commander. He was also a past District Commander for the VFW. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, August 31, 2009 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ (856)767-0539. Services will begin at 12:00pm. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
