Obituary of Inderjit Kaur Mallik

Inderjit Kaur Mallik Inderjit was born in Rawalpindi on April 9, 1932. She was a registered nurse, trained in the Army hospital, Delhi. She married Dr. Balwant Mallik in 1961 and worked as a family planning specialist, counseling couples and families. She touched the lives of many people in many places wherever her husband was posted while in the Indian Navy. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1978 and worked at Kentuckiana Christian Home in Charlestown, IN. She then took over the role of full time home maker in 1985. She was always a gracious host, but her greatest asset was her smile which brought joy to everyone she met. She was a devout Sikh, who read the Guru Granth Sahib regularly, practiced the Gurus teachings, sang His praises, and conducted Sikh traditional services whenever professionals were not available. She was a loving mother to three children who have excelled in their respective fields, a wonderful wife, a faithful companion, and a true friend to her husband. She had an inimitable faith in the will of God and accepted the ups and downs in her health as a source of purification to be accepted at the Lords feet. We have lost Inderjit only physically, but her spirit still lives within the hearts of everyone who had the good fortune to know her. The one thing we do know for sure is that she is now in Gods embrace, and we shall always love her forever. Survived by her loving family Balwant S.
