Jim was a great singer. I dated him years ago and became friends with his family. I remember when Debbie and Andrew came to live with him. I took them out to the Zoo, Storybook Land and Clementon Park and various other times. My sympathy goes out to them and the family. I went to numerous places that Jim played. Everyone liked him and his groups. "Running Scared" was one of the best songs he ever sang. I am an old friend and I know he will be sadly missed by all.

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home ..(unknown)
We miss you daddy.

You know a dream is like a river
Ever changin' as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
It has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance that tide
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
There's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll tke soome falls
With the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Lord, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

I am very sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. My sympathy goes out to all of his family and friends. I'd like to dedicate the following Tim McGraw song to him."MY OLD FRIEND"
My old friend, I recall
The times we had hanging on my wall I wouldn't trade them for gold Cause they laugh and they cry me Somehow sanctify me They're woven in the stories I have told And tell again My old friend, I apologize For the years that have passed Since the last time you and I Dusted off those memories But the running and the races The people and the places There's always somewhere else I had to be Time gets slim, my old friend Don't know why, don't know why, Don't know why, don't know why My old friend, this song's for you Cause a few simple verses Was the least that I could do To tell the world that you were here Cause the love and the laughter Will live long after All of the sadness and the tears We'll meet again, my old friend
Goodbye, goodbye Goodbye, goodbye My old friend, my old friend Goodbye, goodbye

My Texas Girl
All my life I've wondered if what I done was wrong
All I ever cared to do was ride my pony on
I never had no heartache was always happy and gay
Until I met a Texas girl who stole my heart away
Where the sleepy Rio Grande goes slowly to the sea
It was there she promised to be mine throughout eternity
But the angels they grew jealous of her beauty and her smile
And came along one stormy night and stole away my bride
The birds have hushed their singing sadness is over the land
The birds miss my darling by the sleepy Rio Grande
Her lips were like the Russian wine her hair it hung in curls
Her cheeks were like the dawn of day that breaks upon the world
She's gone and left me lonely I miss the touch of her hand
Tonight while I am walking by the sleepy Rio Grande
