Obituary of Charles C. DeSorte

Charles C. (Sonny) DeSorte, Jr. On March 9, 2007 of Atco, NJ age 72yrs. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Jacovelli). Loving father of Michelle Gabrielski and her husband David, Giselle Tomassone and her husband Daniel, Charles DeSorte, III and his wife Lori, Daniel DeSorte and his wife Cindy, Rochelle DeSorte and her husband Christopher Principato, Gabrielle Purvis and her husband Craig and Noelle DeLorenzo. Proud grandfather of David and Matthew Gabrielski; Daniel, Patricia, Ashlee, Ryan and Alexis Tomassone; Charles IV and Dylan DeSorte; Jade and Daniel DeSorte; Hannah and Giovanni; Olivia, Alexander and Sophia Purvis and Kayla and Jordyn DeLorenzo. Dear brother of Joyce Turner and her husband George, Joseph DeSorte and his wife Cheri, Violet Arnold and her husband William and Donald DeSorte and his wife Mary. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews. For over 50 years Mr. DeSorte was CEO and President of C. DeSorte Associates, Inc., an asphalt and paving company. His business ventures were numerous and included: Vi Concrete Company, real estate holdings, oil well drilling and race horses. Mr. DeSorte was a former Chief of Police for Waterford Twp., a member of the Waterford Twp. School Board, a member of the Knights of Columbus and he was also a member of the Atco Lions Club. He was an avid traveler whose most memorable trip was a family vacation to Italy. Sonny will be remembered as a loving and generous father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and again on Thursday morning from 9:00am to 10:45am at the Assumption RC Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment Atco Cemetery, Atco.
