I had the privilege of knowing Woody, and his family, for over 13 years and I can't begin to describe how affected I am by his passing. His sincerity and genuineness were on display in everything he did and everyone he touched. I got to spend countless hours sitting around the kitchen table talking, laughing and listening with him and Lorraine about almost every topic imaginable. Woody and I shared a love of music and we both took great pleasure in sharing stories about my dj work and his musical career. What always stuck out in my head was how genuinely interested he was in my accomplishments (and how proud of me he was) and how passionately he shared the stories of his days traveling and playing his music, always with a twinkle in his eye. This was a man who lived life to the absolute best of his ability, loved unconditionally and accepted everyone for who they were. Those are traits that are few and far between and anyone who had even the briefest moment with him should be thankful, as I am. No matter how far removed from his life you were, I think he found a moment in his day to think of you in his own way. I can't imagine I will ever go a day without thinking of him, and I am honored to say that.
Rest in Peace my friend. I love you, pal.

Aunt Lorraine, I am so sorry of the loss of Uncle Bill. All week I have thought of a song I love, the chorus says.
He bowed his head to Jesus, He stood for Uncle Sam, He only loved one women, He was proud of what He had. He said His greatest contribution is the ones he'll leave behind, raised on the ways and gentle kindness of a small town southern man. I think the writer Alan Jackson wrote this about someone just like Uncle Bill. You are all in my heart and Prayers. Love Nancy

When we think of Uncle Bill, we think of one word -- LOVE. You are now home with the Lord, and you're laughing and hugging Grandmom, Billy, your Mom and Dad, Uncle Vern, Jeep, and all the others who preceeded you. Your legacy is the love for life and for others that your family carries on, in your name. We love and miss you so much already! THANK YOU for touching our lives immeasurably.

Merry Christmas Dad...
I just wanted to let you know how much we all miss you and wish you were still with us. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't visit this website just to see your picture and to say 'Hello'. I miss that smile and I miss you...I wish
you were still here. As we approach this day it really is hard on our hearts...we speak of you all the time but to be able to hear your voice, share a story and laugh, to eat a meal with you or just to be able to hug you would be so great. I know each and everyone one of us wishes for that. On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus. I think how wonderful it must be for you to be able to celebrate this day personally with him along with Grandmom & Grandpop Conlon and Potts, your son Bill and so many others. What a time you will have...
I hope you pass on our well wishes to him and hopefully...one day in good time we will be able to join you at his table. Till than Dad, I just want to say "I LOVE YOU"...and I miss you 'Ol Timer'....
