Elwood "Woody" Potts Of Hammonton, NJ, age 71yrs. Loving husband of Lorraine Kathleen Potts (nee Conlon), passed away on October 11, 2008 with his wife, children, grandchildren, and six cats by his side. Beloved father of Judith Richardson (Dennis), Beth Comunale (Bruce), Deborah Clifton (Slater), Barbara, Christopher (Heather), and Cheryl. Loving father of the late William. Dedicated father in law of Carol. Loving husband and patriarch of a devoted family that included seven grandchildren. His never ending love of nature and animals also expanded the family tree with numerous rescued pets. Woody was born on March 15, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA. He was the only child born to parents Harold and Ida Potts (nee Bonneville). He also had a stepbrother, the late John Luzar (Caroline). Woody led a colorful and fulfilling life traveling the world while still building a home with his family. For years, he was the lead guitar player and singer of the country and western band Woody Potts and the Country Gentlemen. Later in his life, he enjoyed his career as a carpenter at Strawbridge & Clothier. After retiring, Woody continued to love life through spending time with his family. Each weekend, you could find the Potts house filled with food, laughter, family and friends. Woodys body has passed from this earth, but his spirit and legacy will continue through his wife and children. The Potts family wants to extend its sincere thanks to both Kessler Memorial Hospital and Lighthouse Hospice for enabling Woodys passing to be done with peace and dignity. Relatives and friends are invited to Woodys viewing on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 9:30am to 11:30am at St. Martin de Porres RC Church, Egg Harbor Rd and Park Ave in Hammonton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton, NJ.
