Obituary of Joan S Valdez

Joan Valdez, 73, of Sicklerville went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2014. Survived by her daughter Genevieve Joan Palomo and her husband Timothy Grant Palomo. Her beloved sister Nana Sidders of Bellmawr, brother, George R. Sidders and his wife Earlene Sidders of Mississippi, sister, Verna Grimes and her husband Robert W. Grimes of California. Joan graduated from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, National College in Kanas City, MO and The University of Pennsylvania with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She worked in Pennsylvania, California and most recently at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital for 28years. She retired in 1999 and volunteered in the chapel for twelve years. Joan also fought diligently for the rights of the mentally ill. Joan was a charter member of Victory Bible Church upon it's founding date, July 30, 1996. she has served as captain of Victory's The "Tract" Team and gave witness to a personal relationship to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Relatives and friends are invited to Joan's viewing on Thursday, April 3, 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Victory Bible Church, 816 South Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton with a service to follow at 7pm. Interment at the Forest Hills Cemetery, Phila, PA will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Joan's memory can be made to the Victory Bible Church.
