To The Family of Mr. Mahadevan,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family for your loss. Losing someone you love in death is one of the hardest things that anyone will ever have to deal with. The Bible is able to speak consolingly to those who are experiencing grief and its promises are faithful and true. Psalms 55:22 say “throw your burden on God, and he will sustain you….”. This scripture makes it clear, that no matter what we are facing God is there to help us get through it. I pray the love of God enfolds you during your journey through the grief process. My hope is that this Bible message brings you a measure of comfort during this difficult time and may the outpouring of love surrounding you, comfort you also.
Sincerely
Gladys

Nandini, Ashwin and all family members,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss. It was a pleasure working with Ravi for many years. He was thorough and meticulous in his work. He was a tireless worker. I learned a lot from him. He was very caring and always there when you need to discuss something. In 2009, I went to India to see my mother who was critically ill. Ravi would call my home almost everyday to see if my wife and children needed any help. I miss Ravi and I will always treasure the time we spent together at work. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Nandini and Ashwin-
Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Ravi's bright, beautiful Spirit. We are grateful for the moments spent together and the laughter we shared. I will miss the "nudging" we would give each other...such playful banter.
Ashwin- your tribute to your father was so deeply heartfelt and tears ran down my face as I read it. You are his legacy and he will guide you throughout all your life!
I am grateful that Ravi ended this part of his journey as he wanted.
We are here for you- anytime, anywhere, anything.
May God's Grace continue to comfort you each day...you are surrounded by so much Love and Light <3

Sai Ram Dear Nandini, Ashwin and family,
My deepest sympathies and condolences to you all. I only remember Brother Ravi as a very peaceful person with a pleasant demeanor, eager to enjoy Swami's bhajans and serve in whatever way possible. I felt so much peace coming to your home last winter, spending time at your home and felt Swami's presence in your home for New Year's Eve bhajans. The energy was very strong. The last time I saw Ravi was at the officer's orientation meeting and a center meeting in Cherry Hill. To me, he exuded equanimity - a true hallmark of a spiritual aspirant. He is an example for me because - he teaches me how to be cheerful and have equanimity during ups and downs in life, while still having the desire to serve.
Ravi has merged with Swami - who is all bliss, love, and peace and infinitely more.
All is well.
Loving Sai Ram,
Aarti

Our sincere condolences to Ashwin, Nandini, Kaveri, Mani, Priya & children. May the Almighty give you all courage and comfort to accept this huge loss. Ravi will always be in our hearts & his smiling face will never be forgotten. Our memories of you folks, sharing our joy of Xmas in our home, for many years since Ravi & Mani were young kids, will always be treasured.
Geetha & I were happy to have had a WhatsApp conversation with Ravi on 27th March. In spite of him not having much energy, he took the time to send us a wonderful note. For us this note will serve us as a precious tool towards closure.
My girls Kavitha & Shanthi, whom Ravi knew since their births, also join us in sending their condolences to the family. We can only remember Ravi as being warm hearted & ever smiling; we are sure he continues to smile even more now that he is in a better place & in fact that is how he would want us to remember him.

My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy during this difficult time. Ravi Anna was a love luminary - he brought such joy, love, compassion and kindness into the lives of others. I will never forget my visits to Edmonton as a child when he worked there and how he was and is my hero. No matter what obstacle or adversity he faced, he faced it with courage, grace, and an unshakeable faith. He showed us all what it meant to live and move in a space of gratitude. In the past few weeks, he gave such comfort to others. I will forever treasure a message he sent me and am in absolute awe of how he always put others first. He lived the message of service.
Ashwin, your message here about your dad was so beautiful and so perfect. Praying for you all and sending so much love. May his smile shine down from the heavens and may his light illuminate the world! Sending love and hugs!

Sai Ram Ashwin and Nandini
Ravi was about Ashwin's age (about15)when we both met him in Ottawa. His bright smile never changed. He was always happy and made others happy. We can say a lot about his loving ways. When he talked to us through Face Time two weeks ago it was as if we were talking to Swami. Ravi also chose to leave us at Easter Time. His dramatic, smiling and welcoming acceptance of moksha is a lesson to all of us. By teaching us this lesson ,he is also a Guru. We miss him,but he will always be in our thoughts. You are all part of our family. It is hard to console you of such a loss of a loving being and you have spent so much energy loving him through his illness. I am sure that memory of Ravi will encourage you both to achieve many milestones in your life. He will be the wind behind your sails. Our love and prayers to you all for peace of mind.

Dear Nandini and Ashwin
Words cannot express my sadness.
I myself lost both parents at a young age, and I can only say to you Ashwin that what does not kill you makes you stronger. Ravi left a legacy through you, and you are a brave, mature and admirable person.
We have many memories of your family in the 1990s. Ravi and Nandini were good friends supporting us through my pregnancy, hosting our baby shower, being there to celebrate Ryan's first birthday, and offering their company.
Ashwin, you and Ryan are only a year apart and may have been good friends had we not left for CT. We are sorry that we lost contact till this tragedy. We hope that we can pick up where we left off, and that you, Nandini and Ashwin can visit us soon.
Time is a healer, and one grows in immeasurable ways through loss. We hope that new drug therapies can finally cure this disease. My parents today would have survived with the miracles of modern medicine.
All our love
Ana, Shirish and Ryan

Not to worry, Ashwin - you know that your dad was much loved here in Canada. We still cannot fathom what it will be like to not have him here on earth, but we know that he will be with us always. Mother Nature helped us to mourn him here in Ontario with three days of her tears falling as rain. He is surely proud of the beautiful tribute that you wrote. You have many of your father's great qualities - they are his gift to you. Through you, he will live on.

From a letter written to Ravi on March 23, 2015 (changes made now are in parentheses) – Part 2
Contd from Part 1 …your many visits to Saskatoon and ours to Edmonton; and all the laughter. These are permanently etched in my memory.
You have been a part of my life, man.
Whenever worse things happened to good people, I used to think why. Now I try not to ask why. I tell myself that they are good people and that matters the most.
Some years ago, one of my coworkers pointed me to a book written by Harold Kushner - "Why bad things happen to good people". I lost that book somewhere in India. It also taught me not to ask some questions.
Keep up your bright smile.
Take care.
(Your life has been truly inspirational as Ashwin has put so eloquently. You live in our hearts, my friend)
(Our deepest sympathies to Nandini, Ashwin, Mrs Kaveri Mahadevan, Mani Mahadevan & family for their greatest loss, and we hope for their recovery)

Dear Ravi
It is difficult if not impossible for me to convey all our thoughts about you except to say that we love you. I wanted to come out and see Ashwin, Nandini and you, and Saumya (my daughter who was about 1+ and Ravi, about 23 years then when he moved to Edmonton, were friends) said she also would like to join me in the visit. However, this was a while ago and we dropped the idea after we became concerned if we might be a bother even in a very short visit.
We think of you very often.
The good times we had in Ottawa (you were barely a teen then and I was a graduate student; you nicknamed me something that forever for you was my name; for my part, I had to give you one, too); the many visits we have taken; the time when you hopped into our van (on the spur of the moment) when we drove from Toronto to Buffalo, NY (for a family visit); your many visits to (contd on next post)

To Ravi's Family,
So very sorry for your loss. Ravi was such a kind and caring person with whom I had the privilege to spend time with and to know. I fondly remember our many discussions through the good and the hard times and his unrelenting positive spirit. I especially remember our visits to China and the fantastic progress that was made in penetrating this challenging market. I also remember, with a smile on my face, Ravi and I immersing ourselves in the China culture and hitting every site and museum we could that time would allow on our weekends in between meetings. We were like sponges and had many hours of discussion on what we had seen and learned.
Ravi is now in a better place and his soul will continue to live and thrive.

Dear Ashwin and Nandini
We are extremely saddened with the demise of Ravi. It is very unfortunate that he had to meet with this inevitable at his early stage.
You had done your best and we are feeling bad that we can not be with you at this tragic moment.
Our thoughts and memories are vivid and literally our tears rolled down our cheeks when I happened to see the old photos of Ravi and the Wedding Photos with our grandfather and patti.
Ravi was very jovial and even within the shortest available time in Bangalore, he stayed with us and Nandini made it once to our house in Banaglore. Unforgettable moemnts.
Distance has separated us to have frequent interaction.
I pray Almight for you to recover from such irreparable loss.
