Obituary of James R Macauley
James R. Macauley, Sr., age 73, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with Mylofibrosis.
Everyone has a story and Jim's was exceptional. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he lived in Atco, NJ prior to moving to Clearwater, FL, graduated from John Bartram High School in PA and was the owner of James R. Macauley Inc. and Atco Trucking Company in Chesilhurst, NJ until retiring in 2006. Jim was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Berlin, NJ and a firm supporter and lifetime member of the NRA.
Anyone who spoke of Jim would say what a respected, thoughtful, caring and extremely generous man he was. Jim never had a bad word to say about anyone and would offer his hand and words of wisdom to all. Jim loved anything with cars, fishing and the Civil War.
As a father and dad, his children will tell you that there will never be another that was as devoted, supportive and loved as much as a dad could be. He taught all his children to respect, honor and what family value means.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Arlene (nee Safaryn); children Dorothy (Richard) Lange, James (Lisa) Macauley, Jr., George (Deneen) Macauley, Dawn (William) Sayers. Grandfather of Eric, Ricky, David, James, Brittney, Michael, Zachary, Chelsea, Collin, Christopher, Marissa, William and Jason. Great grandfather of seven. Brother of Richard (deceased) and Robert, and extensive loving and supportive family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6 to 9 PM at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. Jim requested that in lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Berlin, NJ or to a charity of your choice.
