Dear Joe and family:
On behalf of Marie and my entire family, please accept our deepest condolences on you loss. Although I did not know Muriel well, I knew her reputation in the community, and I am sure that she will be sorely missed. She is in a better place, Joe.

How sad that dear Muriel has passed away. I met her through the Kennedy Board and she was always by Joe Sr.'s side. I will always remember her as warm, kind and generous with her words and actions. Muriel was smart, funny and great fun to be with. I will miss this wonderful woman.

Muriel, What a kind, lovely, gentle, caring soul! A woman of grace and beauty! Whenever we ran into each other, she was always so kind & gracious. A very intelligent & strong woman! If something came up, she was always there, returned calls and very helpful. She is a very well respected women and it was an honor to know her.
Wherever Muriel was present, JoeMaressa was usually right beside her. They were inseparable and I cannot say enough good things of either one of them!
I am sorry I missed your Father's funeral, I was probably sick and did not know or hear he passed. Joe Maressa was 'The Godfather of Senators', (I say that lovingly! Remember his Retirement party!?!? Or it may have possibly been Leah Wilhelm's, and Joe walked out, as he was announced, and I will never forget them playing the music theme from the "Godfather" & we all laughed and it was quite a memory and such an elegant party!).
Muriel was very much part of the Maressa Family. Everyone loved and admired her & Joe; I certainly did. Along with my father Morton Austin, a childhood friend of Joey and related thru our family members, Illuiano's (Joyce & Nick), etc.. I heard many childhood stories! I met Muriel though my father and your's, including your beloved Aunt Leah.
I am very saddened to hear of Muriel's passing! I am unable to attend, however all will be in my prayers and in my heart & thoughts. I am very sorry for your loss and send my sincerest, deepest condolences! May she always be in the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! God Bess You & your family during this most difficult time!
Muriel is now flying with the Angels! Rest in Peace!
With much sympathy,
Sincerely,
Sharon Austin

Father Tom told us at Mass this morning that Muriel had died. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out and a very special lady who touched the lives of so many people with whom she came in contact. We were privileged to know her (and Mr. M) for many many years. Rest in Peace in the loving arms of Our Lord, Dear Muriel....you too will be missed and remembered.
