Rich Locklear here (Dick Locklear's son). Dale was a good friend of my dad's and someone I'll always remember from my childhood as a nice man who always seemed to have a smile on his face and took time to goof around with the kids at one of the many parties in Woodbury Heights. Many of those fond memories I remember from childhood involved Dale. May he rest in peace.

May you be comforted by your good memories and the love which will forever live on inside of you! I am so sorry that Dale has left us too soon. I pray that God will comfort you and surround you with loving family and friends as you face the sadness of your terrible loss. I was friends with Dale through Jr. High and High School. I always loved seeing him at our class reunions! I can tell you that all who knew him had tremendous respect for his brilliant mind and warm sense of humor. He was a kind and good man. I am so glad to have known him, was proud of him, and I will really miss him.
Love, Linda Layton Young

Dale your kindred spirit and enthusiasm were your DNA. Always played by the rules and could never keep them darn glasses on your nose. I also remember you passionately arguing your point. And, on occasion...the spit was flying!!! I fondly remember our days on Summit Avenue... flashlight tag, swimming, learning to scuba dive and the board games on the 3rd floor. Especially, remember you always picking on Diana... But, most of all, I remember your passion for life. Your drive and determination were the hallmark of your personality. Although it's been years, I'm sure the life you lead and the example you gave us was what everyone will remember about you. But, I did hear you were a very bad umpire (Diana's words) especially the balls on the outside corner...again them darn glasses. R.I.P. my friend!
