Obituary of Dale H. Lundquist

Dale H. Lundquist, 61, of Woodbury Heights, passed away in the early hours of February 8th. Dale grew up in Westville, NJ, before raising a family of his own in Woodbury Heights. He was a 1972 graduate of Gateway Regional High School and went on to earn degrees from Colgate University and Rutgers School of Law. An attorney by profession, Dale possessed a robust interest in politics, law, and history. As a young man, he worked on the 1972 George McGovern presidential campaign in the Massachusetts and New Hampshire primary elections and helped to carry the 1st District of New Jersey for McGovern in the June primary that year. In that same era, Dale was also an energetic commenter on political affairs in numerous letters he wrote to the Courier Post and Gloucester County Times. As a father and as a man of his community, he served on the Woodbury Heights Board of Education from 1989 to 2007. Beyond education, he supported the Woodbury Heights Athletic Association as a coach, umpire, and umpire instructor. He adored animals, encouraged educational enrichment, and believed in civic participation. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Robin Lundquist of Woodbury Heights; four children, Caitlin Lundquist (spouse Ryan Ottavio) of Allentown, NJ; David Lundquist of Woodbury Heights; Christopher Lundquist of Washington, DC; Lauren Lundquist of Allentown, NJ; brother Gary Lundquist (spouse Deborah Pryzwara) of Frankfort, IL; sister Diana Manganaro (spouse Joseph Manganaro) of Harrison Twp, NJ; and his grandson, Logan Ottavio. He was preceded in death by Victor C. Lundquist and Rosemary Welby Lundquist. Family and friends will be received on Saturday February 13th at 10am at New Beginnings Bible Fellowship Church at 335 Glassboro Rd in Woodbury Heights, and the memorial service for Dale H. Lundquist will begin at 11:30.
