Obituary of Harry Wallace Murray, Jr.

Harry “Wally” Wallace Murray, Jr. passed away peacefully at Cooper University Hospital on Monday, March 27, 2017. Wally was a longtime resident of Vineland, New Jersey where he graduated high school in 1951. He served until January of 1953. During his tour he traveled to the Aberdeen Proving Ground where he served majority of his tour in Korea. Wally entered the Rising Sun School of Astronautics in 1948, where he became an aircraft engine mechanic. Shortly after Wally entered Cavoli’s Flying Service he completed his first ever private pilot course in 1950. This started a whirlwind of adventures for Wally where he owned, refurbished, and enjoyed many aircrafts of his own. Wally was a pilot for several years, flying for many different companies throughout his life. Planes were not his only passion in life he also enjoyed playing the drums. He is predeceased by his parents, Harry W. Murray, Sr. and Louise (Laubsch); sister, Doris Amelia and brother-in-law, Stan Maurer. Wally is survived by the love of his life, Susan (Buscemi) Schmidt formally of Berlin, NJ. Wally also leaves behind a niece, Christine (Sullivan) Linebaugh and husband John; sister-in law, Donna (Buscemi) Maurer and Cynde (Buscemi) Suder and husband Timothy; niece, Erin Suder and nephew, Timothy Suder. Friends and family are invited to attend Wally’s viewing on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am and a service will follow at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. Interment will take place with honors at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
