I first came to know Woody when he would visit his not-yet wife, Lucille, who was living with us. He was a sailor stationed a bus-ride away. His visits were often enough to make him a part of the family and because my mother liked to cook a guest was always welcomed. It is unfortunate that the distance has not allowed us to keep in better touch. Lucy, I will try to keep a promise to visit when the weather is better.
With much love, Cousin Bryant.

I remember Woody very fondly. He gave me one of his sailor caps, it was creased to a square shape, folded half way. I wore it proudly for many years in my youth. Lucille I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Harris my brothers Bob and Mike have known Elwood all of our lives, we will miss him. He was an example of all that is good, I remember one day when we were kids that his brother Earl was getting a little rough with my brother Mike, Elwood came out of his mothers house and put a stop to it immediately. We are sorry for your loss. George Madden.
