Obituary of Elwood J. Harris

Elwood J. Harris "Woody" of Pine Hill, NJ passed away on March 3, 2018 at the age of 85 years. He is pre-deceased by his son, Chris. He is survived by his wife of 64years, Lucille (nee Burgess), his children, Terry Harris (Nancy), Timothy Harris (Anne Marie) and Lori Smith. He is also survived by a daughter in law, Heather Harris and his grandchildren, Terry Jr., (Debbie), Chris (Leigh Anne), Jennifer (Nate), Chelsea, Kylie, Tristan and Gracie. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Elwood served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was very involved in the Borough of Pine Hill. He participated in the Father & Son Baseball events, was a Borough Council President and Public Safety Director. He also served as a member of the Pine Hill MUA, Vice President of the Pine Hill Planning Board and a longtime member of the American Legion Post #286, Pine Hill, NJ. He was always a "comedian" and was very quick witted. He loved talking to people but most importantly, he was a Loving Husband, Father and Grand Pop. Viewing will be held on Thursday evening March 8, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 8 pm follow by Military Honors. Cremation will be held privately.
