Obituary of Scott D. Parker
Scott David Parker, age 24, passed away on Friday, January 21st, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA. Those who really knew Scott (Scottie or Boomer, to friends and family) remember his wonderful, sincere bear hugs, how he took great joy in being around his friends, his generosity, and his ability to make people laugh. He had tremendous love and loyalty for family and those he embraced as family. True to Scott's giving nature, his organs have gone on to help save other people's lives. Scott's formative years were spent in Shamong, NJ where he attended Seneca High School. While in high school, he loved playing the drums with his friends in many bands.
He was an accomplished and gifted musician and artist, who was always striving for creative and honest expression.
Scott is survived by his parents, Pamela Marie Parker of Shamong, NJ; Steven Kenneth Parker of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Sarah Katherine Weiss, her husband, Michael, and their son, Harry, of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Steven Thomas Parker of Shanghai, China; his maternal grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins in Chicago, IL; and his paternal uncle and cousin in Tucson, AZ.
To reference the Gospel song "I'll Fly Away", Scott has flown away to a home where joy shall never end. Scott is free. In memory of Scott, and keeping with the better Angels of our nature, remember to show love and kindness to the people around you, everyday.
