Joan Craik

Obituary of Joan Forbes Craik

There is no discomfort in this world as bad as watching someone hurt and having no answer. All we need is a hand to hold and a heart to understand. Joan Forbes Craik (nee Lindsay) had possessed that strength and wisdom, as a Nurse for over 50 years. When others needed her touch, She poured in compassion to make the broken whole, her healing hands had lifted the many weary souls. For when everything we say or believe or do is gone, who we are remains. Joan's kindness will still reach out, her honesty will still teach and her acceptance will still give worth. Even though Joan passed away peacefully on Saturday August 13, 2011, a loving heart never dies. Joan was born in Sterling, Scotland and spent her early and young adult life there. Her husband's job brought her family to Philadelphia in 1967 and they settled in Willingboro, NJ. Mrs. Craik was a stoic, tough old broad who was a loving family woman who had the mother's touch. She is the wife of the late Andrew Craik, mother of Karen, Alan & the late Peter Craik and is the proud grandmother of "good looking" Ethan Craik. Relatives and friends are invited to remember Joan in a memorial ceremony on Wednesday evening at (6:00 pm) at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church 433 Park Ave. Laurel Springs.
