Bertram Kennedy

Obituary of Bertram F. Kennedy

A giant pine, magnificent and old.all around it shed beauty, grace and power. The ground below was gentle in the cooling shade. One day it fell, where it stood was lonliness and void. To know this life was good. It left its mark on me. Its work stands fast. Every blade in the field, every leaf in the forest lays down its life in its season as beautifully as it was taken up. Bertram "Bert" F. Kennedy fell, asleep in death peacefully at home in Atco on Thursday November 10, 2011. Mr. Kennedy was a down to earth hard working husband, father and brother who believed and took great pride in the American way. He was a man of few words but many actions. He had a natural ability and could fix anything including broken toys for unfortunate children. Bert was born on Christmas day in Trenton and spent his early years in Hamilton. More recently he had been a resident of Chatsworth and of Atco for the past 10 years. Bert had worked in construction with heavy equipment for over 30 years and will be fondly remembered as the family historian who was an ornery but caring "Piney". Bert is the husband of 48 years to the late Loretta (nee Bowers) Kennedy. He is survived by his son Scott & his wife Joann Kennedy of Chatsworth his brother Giles & his wife Sandy Kennedy of CA, his sister Maria & her husband Charlie Corbett of Mercerville and his dear friends Jim "Smokey" Lombardo and Janet Giberson. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Kennedy family and pay tribute to hard working hands at rest on Tuesday morning between 9 am and 11 am at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home where a funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at the Ewing Church Cemetery, Trenton. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan Hospice 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300 Marlton NJ 08053 www.samaritanhealthcarenj.org To e-mail a condolence, please visit www.lpwoosterfuneralhome.com
