I am so sorry hearing of the passing of Edwin. I haven't seen Edwin for many years, but we were friends on facebook. He was always a nice and friendly guy, funny too. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. RIP Edwin, you will be missed.

My Uncle Edwin has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. My most early memory was sending letters back and forth with Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings Trivia . later in life i learned to play guitar and learned some of his favorite songs. I think my camp trips are what I will remember the most. Especially his "Colorful words" he would use. I will miss our camp trips. "...and the Train it won't stop going "..."Locomotive Breath" ..Jethro Tull

I first met Edwin when he came to St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, in the late 60's. He was full of life and was a great friend. I left St. Vincent a year after he did. I needed a place to stay and Edwin graciously offered to share his apartment in Philadelphia with me. I told him he had saved my life by taking me in. We had a lot of good times over the years. Last year we visited St. Vincent again. It wasn't surprising that he was accepted with open arms by the monks. About a month ago we talked about taking another trip back to Latrobe. I'm sorry we couldn't make that second trip.
He was a great teacher and a great person. I'll miss him, as we all will.

My memories of my Uncle Edwin are many. But the fondest memories are of our trips to Camp Fireside together. The many hours, stories and lessons he shared with me when I was a boy, and they continued when I became a man. He loved nothing more than to tease me or crack a joke at my expense, but he also enjoyed when someone gave it back to him, which as I got older I was able to do. Behind that rough exterior was a man who loved his family and friends and loved all things dealing with nature. His thirst for knowledge continued throughout his whole life. I’ll miss you on our camp trips Uncle Edwin...but you’ll always be there watching over us.

Carl was the man that God hand picked for my best friend, Pat. He was a good, good man. We are glad that his suffering is over, and we are very happy that he is with his dear Pat again. God bless all of his family; especially Chase and Lewis.
With love and Prayers,

I will miss one of the best friends I ever had. He was my buddy and “go to” friend who listened with a quiet and understanding heart. Thank God he is with the love of his life forever now. Rest In Peace my dear friend. I love you.
